This vehicle was purchased by a mature lady in 1995 from her local fiat dealership as it was equipped with power steering and electric windows, she covered approx 2500 miles a year around her village, never driving the car in anger. This car has been very well looked after and given what ever it has needed (which isn’t a lot) as the receipts and service book show.
I bought this car from the original owner 3 years ago and kept it in storage until a few months ago. Even though the car was in excellent condition when I purchased it, I have given the car a full repaint in its original rare colour ‘midnight blue’ (I own a classic restoration bodyshop) this was not a quick cheap job and if I charged a client to do a repaint to this standard it will cost £5k+
Last week the car received new discs and pads all round, oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter, radiator, turbo down pipe and a water pump and cambelt change. The car drives like new, lovely tight gearbox with no slack or play whatsoever, sharp brakes, the engine starts and idles like no turbo charged vehicle we have ever seen
The wheels were dipped and powder coated and brand new toyo tyres were fitted all round
The sills and floor are all original with no welding being done and no welding needed. I had some welding done to the inside of the rear arches before the repaint as they had just started to show signs of corrosion. Again this was not a cheap job and was carried out by the same welder who does all of our Ferrari and Aston Martin restorations. The whole underside has been undersealed
The interior is like sitting in a new car, it even still smells new. The cigarette lighter has never even been lit.
To find an unmodified punto turbo out of the 48 of them left on UK roads is very rare, to find an unmodified, one owner gt1 with 54, 000 miles in unheard of. This will be a £10k car very soon and I know I will regret selling it.
