1937 MG TA - Excellent restored example with MG Registration
The replacement for the ‘PB’ Series Midget came in the form of the all - new ‘T’ Series model midway through 1936 This was an entirely new design with a 7” longer wheelbase and increased track, giving much improved comfort and considerably more room in the cockpit.
The engine was now an OHV unit of 1. 3 litres developing 50 bhp which gave a top speed approaching 80 mph. Priced at £222 ex works, the TA - is it became retrospectively known - represented very good value. Some 3003 were produced before production ceased in 1939 and the ‘TB’ was introduced.
This fine blue example was first registered on 1st March 1937. Acquired by the current family in 1991, the car underwent a chassis-up restoration during the 1990s and has been lovingly cared for since.
It is to the original specification and is fitted with a delightful period radio, as well as the essential luggage rack. Bearing the original registration number of MG 5234, the car has the correct set of tools and a large file of documentation.
