RA Classics are pleased to offer for sale this 1972 MG-B Roadster.
Widely regarded as the quintessential British sports car; the MG-B has deservedly accumulated an enormous fan-base during and since its 17-year production run.
This particular example was sourced in its current condition as a ready-to-go entry into a regularity format rally in north wales, the full 150 mile distance of which it completed faultlessly having received only a routine service just prior to the event. Though the car emerged from the factory in Teal blue / Autumn leaf colour scheme, the car is now presented in flame red over black interior, this example sports the much-desired chrome bumpers, wire-wheels, original vinyl folding roof, and period correct seat specification.
The car features the typical BMC B-series 1. 8L inline 4-cylinder engine, which has benefited from an up-rated twin-weber carburettor in place of the standard dual SU carbs, which offers smooth and reliable performance through the four-speed Laycock LH synchro-mesh gearbox with 3rd and 4th gear overdrive.
The car benefits further from Securon 3-point harnesses, which increase the car’s suitability for the purpose for which it was acquired; as a relatively inexpensive and capable classic rally car. Alternatively, for those wishing to cut their teeth in classic car ownership, maintenance or restoration; this car is the ideal starter being simple and inexpensive to maintain. It’s readiness to be used straight away renders it ideal for seasoned or first-time classic car owners alike.
A lengthy history file accompanies the car which features extensive receipts, documentation and information, including a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust factory record certificate.
