Description
This honest and usable 1975 MGB Roadster has plenty of character and an attractive traditional appearance. Finished in deep blue-purple with a cream interior, it features a chrome-bumper conversion, wire wheels and an unusual removable hardtop that is quick and easy to fit or remove.
Recently fitted with new spark plugs, the car starts very well and drives nicely. It is an enjoyable, affordable classic that can be used as it is, while offering plenty of scope for gradual improvement.
Originally registered in August 1975, the MGB was owned by its previous keeper for seven years. Its history file contains a Heritage Certificate, previous MOT certificates and a good collection of servicing and maintenance records. Recorded work includes a replacement engine in 2015, a replacement gearbox in 2019 and a new fuel pump in 2022.
This is not presented as a freshly restored or concours example. The paintwork, brightwork and wheels display age-related marks, wear and imperfections, but the car retains an appealing presence and the relaxed charm of a classic that can be enjoyed without worrying about every stone chip.
The odometer shows approximately 40, 000 miles, which should be regarded as indicated rather than warranted.
A characterful and very usable MGB to enjoy now—or an excellent basis for further improvement. Available to view by appointment at Woodrow Farm, Hertfordshire.
