This rather nice early Series 2a was registered in Bournemouth on 9th November 1962.
Registered as 1284 RU which is valuable in it own right and transferable but it would be a shame to part them after all these years.
Chassis number 27101695 which makes it a Home Market RHD 2. 25 Diesel 88" SWB.
Tax and MOT exempt and cheap insurance!
Up to date V5 regstration document ready to go in new owners name.
The great thing about RU is it is so correct and unmolested incl deep sills, flat front valance, original Lucas wipers and it even has its correct diesel start switch!.
Off the road and stored for many years. Last owner 25 years and only 5 owners from new.
The chassis is remarkably good for its age.
It will require the usual rear cross member but is generally sound..
The bulkhead will require a passenger footwell, patching of the drivers footwell and some work to the top corners but again is very sound.
The engine fires up readily and ticks over well.
The clutch and brakes are no longer functioning due to hydraulic failure.
I believe it was originally Bronze Green and a full Canvas Soft top.
These early 2a's are indistinguishable from a Series 2 and just have a great look about them.
This will be a great project to bring back to life as it is all complete.
Will be perfect for kids, dogs, logging and trips to the pub!
