Description
Supplied new in November 1975 by Henlys to the first keeper who retained ownership for 5 years, before passing to the next long term owner in Hampshire for a further 18 years. The car then moved to Surrey for a further 14 years before arriving in Scotland in 2013. A dream service history accompanies, running into a continuation service book, with comprehensive invoicing dating right back into the 1970, s by main dealers such as Henlys, H. A. Fox, Wadham Stringer and Arnetts of Bournmouth. The interior leather and woodwork is like time has stood still since the 1970, s, and retains the pure fresh Connelly hide aroma in abundance. The paintwork was the original TPA Shell Grey Acrylic, faded as is normal for its age. Due to the overall condition and pedigree of the car, the decision was taken to carry out a professional strip down, in preparation for a full repaint. This included removal of all brightwork, doors, bonnet, boot and glass. The fine lines, as per factory spec have been reapplied by hand. A thorough mechanical check over and service was carried out including replacement of front and rear brake discs, spark plugs, rocker cover and sump gaskets along with various perishable items. A new set of factory spec Avon Turbosteel tyres have also been fitted . The history file is impeccable, with thorough and detailed invoicing running back to the late 1970, s, includes every MOT since new and tax discs running back 35 years. The full handbook pack with pullouts, the original warranty card and radio guarantee are present, along with both sets of keys. The complete original toolkit, small and large are in place also. All summed up, this car presents to a similar standard to what would have been in 1980, at the time the second owner purchased it from H. A. Fox. A truly stunning low ownership example, fully prepared and finished in its original and desirable colour combination of Shell Grey Metallic over St James Hide.
