1984 MERCEDES-BENZ W126 500SE
We have just taken this highly original W126 in part exchange this weekend. It has a fantastic service history detailing regular maintenance by Mercedes Benz main dealers and specialists even though the car has only covered a minuscule 45000 warranted miles from new by 3 former owners.
It was registered in September 1984 to a restaurant owner in Devon and even still bears the supplying dealers rear window sticker and the full array of owners manuals, service books, alarm fobs and all 3 keys . He kept the car for 21 years and it was garaged the whole time and only brought out for special occasions. The interior has always had carpet overmats and seat covers in place so the trim is in absolutely superb condition, everything works including the optional air conditioning and the original first aid kit is still fully intact . The second owner was a plumber who did regular work for the restaurant and was promised the car when the original owner no longer had a use for it, both himself and the 3 owner have cared for the car incredibly well , keeping it in an honest, genuine condition. In all my years of trading I have never seen a body on a w126 that is free of rust like this one, every where they rust; sills, jacking points, arches, wings it is in outstanding original condition. It has had no welding and all the factory sealer is present inside all the arches - a collectors dream! The mexican hat alloy wheels are in original condition also and never refurbished. All the chrome trim on the car is in super condition and has no rusting, pitting or delaminating at all.
The colour combination of mesa red over tan is a stunning combination and a wonderful period hue.
As earlier mentioned this vehicle has just arrived into stock with us and is currently undergoing preparation which will include a service, gearbox oil change and replacement front suspension bushes as well as a thorough detail prior to sale.
Nationwide delivery is available at on £1 per mile (one way only)
