The VW Corrado VR6 Storm has become a very rare car, with just 500 ever built, and this is one of only 250 in this colour. The car was first introduced as an upmarket version of the Scirocco.
The VR in VR6 stands for V-Reihenmotor, german for V-Inline, describing a narrow-angle V6 2861cc block, with its two banks of cylinders offest at just 15 degrees to each other. Hence a V6 with just the one cylinder head. That engine was thus shorter and narrower than a conventional V6 but still packing all the punch and smoothness of a standard V6 layout. That meant it could be wedged into the blueprint VW Golf/ Scirocco floorpan. The compact Corrado shell with that 190bhp engine makes for a solid 180lb-ft of torque and delivers 0-62 in 6. 7 seconds - marvellous acceleration even by today's standards.
This particular car has a genuine full VW Main Dealer service history. It has only had four former keepers - obviously a car people like to keep hold of.
The outstanding bodywork in Mystic Blue accentuates the stylish lines of this Corrado Storm, and the unmarked 15-inch alloy wheels and full leather interior add to the overall good impression, not to mention such touches as the self-deploying rear spoiler.
