Supplied new by Clarke Bros. Services Ltd, a Rootes main agent in Peterborough. Their label remains on display on the dashboard. Originally retained by Cliff Clarke, a director of that company, he kept the car until 1975, by which time he was 90 years of age, having given up driving the car some 10 years previously. On his death, the car was passed on to a nephew, Arthur Clarke who kept the car until his own death in 2015.
The current, and second registered keeper, has had the car since 2018 and is now reducing his collection, hence this wonderful car is for sale.
It is rare to find an RME in such wonderful condition and even rarer to find one with near continuous history. Accompanying the car is a file full of history on the Clarke Bros dealership, owners manuals, MoTs etc.
