This much loved, matching numbers, car was purchased new in Sydney by the owners late father, a dyed in the wool, Jaguar enthusiast. He fastidiously cared for the car until it passed to his son. The son then sent the car to Gavin King’s Concours Sportscar Restoration, for a full nut & bolt rotisserie restoration. Gavin is a specialist Jaguar E-Type restorer with an acknowledged reputation for the exacting standard of his work. This work is fully documented with hundreds of photos, took almost 2 years and has resulted in a concours standard car, returned to a condition as good as new (if not better) than when it drove out of the factory gates in April 1970.
The car recently featured on the cover of the June 2020 edition of the international “E-Type Club’ magazine, published in the UK. it also featured on the Jaguar Drivers Club of Australia website in the E-Type section as an example of a Series 2 FHC E-Type Jaguar, being one of only 109 such cars officially imported to Australia by Jaguar.
The car has completed just over 10, 000 kms since its restoration and has been maintained in first class condition by Cummins Classic Cars since 2012. The car has never been damaged and all maintenance requirements have been carried out.
The car comes with a Jaguar heritage certificate, confirming it is numbers matching engine & gearbox and build date, 30th April 1970.
