Hard-to-find 1976 short-wheelbase Chevy G10 panel van imported from California a couple of years ago with less than 14000 miles recorded, having been stored for some while. It’s a 350 V8 (5. 7-litre) with a TH350 automatic. Since arriving, she’s been enhanced with masses of replaced parts, while the totally rust-free bodywork has been left in its oil-protected West Coast patina finish. The van is now ready for a new owner.
She has very light PS with a fantastic lock, Captain’s seats and a re-trimmed cab, Grant steering wheel, four-speaker JVC radio, and spanking-new period whitewalls on refurbished wheels. A brake overhaul included replacement of the proportioning valve, master cylinder, a caliper, all hoses plus rear wheel cylinders and pedal box bushings. Swaybar bushes are also new.
Electric parts renewed include battery (with a cut-off switch), ignition switch and lock cylinder, plug leads, plus headlight and dimmer switches. There’s a new radiator, cap and hoses, thermostat and housing and temp sender, together with heater matrix, hoses and demist ducting. Add to that a fuel pump, all filters and lubricants, and a couple of door locks.
