FOR SALE
Reluctantly selling my Toyota Hilux Mk3 Classic Single cab 1997
As you probably already know, It is the last year of the Non Turbo mk3, the super solid reliable model with leaf springs all round before it went to a turbo and ifs.
Now considered a classic and will only appreciate in value over time if looked after and maintained.
Excellent example of a non restored, unmolested totally original classic truck.
I have this truck on classic car insurance so is super cheap. I wanted to keep it and restore for the long term, however, circumstances have changed.
I have lost count of the amount of comments it receives, notes left on the window and people asking for a price to sell. These are very well sort after now as lots have been exported.
It has all the original features, toolkit, jack, 4x4 instructions in the visor, original FM stereo, original seats and upholstery with the drives side seeing damage on the vinyl, the only thing its missing is the vinyl flooring that has been carpeted. Original paintwork with no touchups, and original graphics.
The engine is 100% running as it should, it has never once let me down and jumps into action straight away, anytime of year, hot or cold. it has always had the consumable parts needed to keep it maintained, exhaust system, alternator, brakes and service kit. Lots of spare still available on the web.
The underneath is in absolutely great condition, no welding has ever taken place or is needed, it is super clean underneath with no rot and was professionally coated with Dinitrol at great expense.
The body work needs attention above the nearside rear wing as seen on the photos, it is repairable and doesn't need to be replaced if caught soon enough. The tailgate needs dents removing and straightening up around the back quarter where the reflectors go. It obviously has signs of use, wear and tear and faded paintwork as its never been restored, however, in my opinion it is in such condition that it can add to the authenticity and character of the age and it cleans up really nice, I was conscious not to give it a respray and new graphics, however, the new owner may choose otherwise to repaint or remove the decals but wouldn't need much spending.
I have new reflectors to go on the tailgate & bull bars if wanted and rear light cages.
I have seen these things listed with well over 200k on the clock, rusted to pieces or jacked up 6" and modified and still go for good money, if you are after a more authentic, mechanically reliable version, this is for you.
It has just tipped over 100k on the clock and may go up slightly as still in use, I receive approx. 34mpg on a steady commute to work and is always serviced.
