Description

1948 MG TC

To many MG enthusiasts, the TC is the definitive model of the ‘T’ Series. Still with pre-war appearance and character, but with a few more refinements, including the extra width of the body, giving a less cramped feel in the cockpit. The excellent XPAG Type engine provided brisk acceleration and a top speed of 75 mph - very respectable at that time. Handling was taut and responsive, as was expected from an MG. With some 10. 000 examples built between 1945 - 49 and a considerable percentage of these going for export, the TC won many friends both at home and overseas.

Smartly presented in BRG with Biscuit leather trim, this TC was clearly restored some while ago and resided in the United States until being repatriated seven years ago.

In the present ownership since 2014, much money has been spent to bring the car to a good useable standard. Work has included fitment of replacement front springs, brake overhaul, wheels trued, spokes renewed and powder coating. The steering wheel has been replaced with a ‘Brooklands’ item and correct rear and fog lamps fitted, plus numerous additional jobs.

The hood and side screens are sound and serviceable and the MG runs very well feeling taut and together on the road.

A number of bills are included. An ideal TC for someone who is looking for a ‘ready to go’ example with some scope to enhance further if required.
