Description
Nice, original specification old car with the 'lived in' look. It was built on 12 August 1952 and was originally left-hand drive for the American market. Since then, it has spent time in Malta and France, returning to the UK in 1989, we think. The car has obviously been rebuilt during its lifetime and is in very good structural order with good panel fit, including the doors. The undeside of the car is very good indeed, not recently painted, but in very clean condition. The paintwork to the body could be described as 'shabby chic' as it is a little worn, but it adds lovely patina to the car. Personally, we wouldn't repaint it because it looks great if you are standing at a (social) distance (how's that for a sign of the times?!) The car starts and runs well with good gearbox, back axle etc. The brakes work fine but we think a good service would improve them further, particularly the handbrake. The car comes with canvas hood, correct side screens and tonneau. Under the bonnet is very good, the engine was rebuilt approximately ten thousand miles ago. The four matching Firestone tyres are almost brand new as is the the 12v battery and everything seems to work on the car, including the front spot/ fog lights and flashing indicators. There is a rear luggage rack too, although this is not screwed on - it comes with the car and is easy to fit. V5C and good file of paperwork.
