Alfa Romeo Spider S3 – RHD/ 39, 000 miles/ Stunning
The Alfa Romeo Spider is a two-seater, front engine, rear wheel drive roadster manufactured and marketed by Alfa Romeo from 1966 to 1994 in four distinct series, each with modifications ranging from modest to extensive. The Series 3 Spider (1982/ 1990) received Bosch fuel injection and a number of subtle body styling changes although the signature rear kammback was retained
The Series 3 was only manufactured as a LHD by Alfa Romeo. To meet UK demand for RHD cars several companies imported from the factory and converted the cars - the most famous was Bell and Corvill of West Horsley. I worked near the garage in the mid 1980’s and often stopped to drool over the new arrivals!
Milestone Classics are delighted to market our immaculate Alfa Romeo 2. 0 Spider that has covered just 39, 000 miles from new and was originally converted and sold by Bell & Corvill. The super straight signature red bodywork is stunning, the hood is excellent with no marks, the rear window clear and the “look” is completed by the factory alloys.
Mechanically the car drives exactly as you would expect, and everything works including the electric mirrors. The large history file contains original B&C Bill of Sale (purchase price in 1989 = £16, 345), invoices since 1989, old MOT’s, original handbook – even the original B&C breakdown insurance is in the folder.
The interior is, as you would expect, a lovely place to be. The black seats & carpets are excellent, the dashboard has no cracks and all gauge’s function perfectly.
The Spider is everything that a classic sports car should. The design is timeless with engaging rear wheel drive, firm ride, sharp steering and slightly louder than required exhaust note – what more could you want?
