Description
The Alfa Romeo SZ is arguably the company's most controversial model to enter mass production, and to this day, it has as many supporters as detractors. Its appearance is unmistakable. I'll tell you about my experience with this unique car.
My Alfa Romeo SZ, model number 758, was manufactured on July 24, 1991, and two days later, it was delivered, along with 19 others, to the Marazzato s. p. a. dealership in Treviso. This is mentioned in a certificate issued in 2003 by Alfa Romeo at the request of its second owner. For reasons unknown and related to strange Italian regulations, the 20 red SZs sat in the dealership for over a year, and it wasn't until early 1993 that a group of potential customers received offers to purchase the cars. The SZ wasn't listed in the company's official price lists, but was sold by inviting a select group of regular customers to a presentation and, if interested, purchasing one of the 1, 036 units produced.
The first owner of my car was Monique, a Dutch orthodontist living in Venice.
We know from her account and surviving documents that she purchased the Alfa for 91, 630, 000 lire (novantunmilioniseicentotrentamila), in eight monthly installments. Interestingly, the installment agreement was concluded directly between the dealership and the client, without the involvement of a bank.
All the other examples were likely sold in a similar manner, as Monique's account tells us that on January 30, 1994, she collected her car from the dealership at the same time as the others, as part of a single, undoubtedly solemn, ceremony.
Everything is original, functional, and regularly serviced. All factory accessories and gadgets are included, along with all the literature, a cover with a bag, etc.
The car is registered in Poland; I can provide further information by phone or via WhatsApp.
