A superb 1936 Morris 10/ 4 Special Coupe - often called Doctors Coupe. These Series 2 vehicles were made in 1936 and 1937 only, and this is an early one, with the wire spoked wheels and 3 -speed gearbox.
This beautiful car has come from long term ownership. Last owner 18 years, and one recorded prior from 1936. The 10/ 4 Coupe is a rare car with only a handful remaining. It has a 4 cylinder side valve engine of 1292cc which makes it quite a sprightly performer for a car of that era.
The overall condition is very good, really excellent considering it is an 84 year old car. Its not perfect, but is easily good enough to be shown at rallys or shows. It is a driving, useable classic, for the classic car enthusiast. It has been very well looked after and maintained over the years by the previous owners. Its a credit to them, and the car has a lovely, used patina that suits this era of car perfectly.
It starts immediately, both hot and cold and runs very well. It is exactly how a 30s car should drive, but not like a modern car. It handles, steers, and brakes well. Unusually, these car had hydraulic brakes.
The interior is excellent. Its a true 4-seater car, and the carpets, seats and headlining have been replaced, and the indicators have been converted to flashing type for safety.
Paintwork is good and the car is straight, excellent and rust-free underneath, and very distinctive is its teal blue. There are storage compartment under the seats and floor, and a generous size boot.
Located near Kings Lynn PE33, and viewing by appointment is welcomed.
