For some, picking a favourite era of BMW 5 Series from the impressive back catalogue is far from easy. To us, however, the E28 is pretty unbeatable.
This 1984 520i manual may not boast a huge spec list, but its attractive simplicity proves that the fundamental styling, driving experience and engineering of the E28 was just right.
Having covered just 38k miles, this car is in stunning condition. Its Platinum Green paint work and BBS alloys are excellent and the interior, with its cloth trim and original overmats, is perfect in every detail. The original tool kit is also present.
As you would expect of a car with such low mileage, the car drives remarkably well and feels very sharp. The fuel injected 2. 0 6-cylinder engine is silky smooth and has that evocative signature BMW sound, too.
This is a beautifully simple example of a comfortable, reliable, stylish, and practical cult classic that can be enjoyed every day or on weekend cruises.
