WKE 947 represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the 156 original right hand drive BN2 model Austin Healey 100s, extremely highly specified with a full Le Mans conversion including the louvred bonnet, cold air box plus a 135 BHP engine that far exceeds the original M performance figures.
Finished in Spruce Green with a Black interior, this 100 was built on 18th October 1955 for the home market. This Healey is presented in good condition having been fully rebuilt in May 2018 from a new chassis by RetroMarques with just 1, 000 miles since. New alloy front wings were fitted, a new wiring loom, interior, suspension components and more. The engine and drivetrain were previously rebuilt in 2004 and further fettled with rolling road tuning in 2014.
As a highly desirable BN2 model this car features the later and stronger 5-stud rear axle plus the much favoured 4-speed gearbox (over the earlier 3 speed BN1 cars are fitted with). BN2 cars as such are significantly more desirable and form great investments for the future.
Further modifications include a rear anti-roll bar, alloy front wings, a much longer 3. 9 rear axle ratio (making for better cruising and top speed), Denish Welch aluminium head ported and polished, tubular exhaust, front disc brakes, telescopic rear dampers and an alloy fuel tank. The car is fitted with sticky Avon CR6 ZZ tyres all round.
With previous long-term ownership this car has been adored with sympathetic use and a plethora of upgrades added to build a highly specified road car, suitable for both enthusiastic road driving and touring. This is a fast car which cruises well and has excellent road manners with the extra refinement of a stiff new chassis and telescopic shocks.
Supplied fully serviced with MOT, British Motor Heritage of Authenticity, one of the largest paperwork history files we’ve ever seen, dyno print outs, photographic documentation and more.
