Hi, here is my 1968 Buick LeSabre, which has recently under gone a full restoration.
The car has n extensive history file with it, was imported from Washington, and if fully registered in the UK with a V5 in my name.
The car is very honest and a real nice example.
The shell is all original, never welded.
The underside has been stripped back to bare metal, and primed then sprayed with a seam sealer to give a 'factory' type finish.
The body has been stripped down, bare metaled, epoxy primed, high build primed, then finished in its original Artic White.
The engine bay and boot area have been finished in a satin black, as it would have come from the factory.
The engine itself has been serviced, and had a new battery fitted. The motor looks to have been well cared for in its lifetime.
All rubbers and seals have been replaced for new ones, at great expense!
The interior has been fitted with new carpets, and the two bench seats have been re upholstered with new material, and look fab.
It starts, runs and drives spot on, the brakes have been re-new'd.
Chrome looks great, very good condition, bar a few little dinks and blemishes in the bumpers.
The Buick is tax and MOT exempt, but I can and will take it to my local MOT tester just for piece of mind.
The LeSabre is set of very nicely in my opinion by the period set of alloys fitted.
A couple of niggly points that I will point out; The dash pad/ top has slight cracking- from too many US summers! But I do have a replacement dash pad, and we will fit this if we get chance. Also the doorcards are all original, they look presentable, but are not perfect. There is no headlining currently fitted, but I do have a brand new one supplied, this too we can fit up if we get time.
I have a van load of spares that can go with the car, these include a full set of wheels and tyres, an original tow bar and boxes of parts, rubbers and trims. I also have the full set of chrome wheel arch trims (I decided not to fit these, just to give the shape a cleaner, de-cluttered look).
As I say a great deal of time and money has gone into this example, its a ultra rare car, even in the States now! This is a straight and honest example and its a regretful sale as I proberbly wont find another, but I am in desperate need of storage currently, and some cars realy do need to go.
I don't have many photos at the moment, but am hoping to get the Buick out later on this week to take some up to date pics.
I will attach a few pics from before and during the restoration though.
