Overview
The John Cooper LE 40 was launched in 1999 with a build run of 300 cars as a tribute to 40 years of the Mini & the 40th anniversary of the Cooper F1 World Championship. All finished in the striking combination of Brooklands Green with an Old English White roof.
Body work and Interior
Grenadine Red leather with a full-length, engine-turned dash with Magnolia faced dials. Smart LE interior with a huge number of bespoke additions. The LE interior included Grenadine Red leather upholstery, including the seats with black piping, dash top, door liners, gear gaiter and door pockets. Black leather steering wheel, handbrake grip and gear knob. Alloy dashboard, CD player, Airbag, Extra oil and voltmeter gauges. SS parts, Internal door pack handles, lock plates, door pulls, seat extenders, internal vent caps, rear view mirror.
Documentation
This stunning Cooper has the added extremely rare Palmer S Works kit fitted in 2010 by Palmer Brothers Works garage. Conversion number 11/ 73 with the original Certificate provided. It also has Load’s of service history, owner's handbook, all MOTs, original paraphernalia, service book Dixon Rover York x2, London Mini Centre x 4, Wood & Pickett x 1 up to 33, 543 miles and remainder at the local Mini specialist of over 40 years along with 2 sets of keys. This stunning mini only has 38, 000 miles from new with the history to back it up, and with an MOT until December 2021.
Mechanics
This kit included a Stage 3 cylinder head, 1. 5 high-lift roller rockers, K&N 57i Induction Kit, modified inlet manifold, Burlen SU 52mm throttle body, Maniflow LCB, stainless steel RC40 exhaust system. The engine and gearbox had an ‘overhaul’ in 2019 at 37, 927 miles with Repaint, gaskets, skim, valve springs and seals to head. Engine repaint and gaskets.
