1995 Audi S6 Avant - 6 Speed Manual – 72K miles
Extremely rare chance to purchase a very rare and low mileage Audi S6 Avant. This model of Audi was the very first Audi to be designated with the A6 tag. Being a facelift of the previous C4 Audi 100, this car had a different nose and some minor upgrades elsewhere round the car. Having been designated the A6, the S version now took on the tag of S6. Being the first to have the S6 badge, this car is known within the Audi fraternity as the ‘UR S6’, UR meaning original in German.
Even more distinctive, is that the UR S6 model was only produced in the 2 year window of 1995 to 1996 but principally for just over a year, before the C5 model A6/ S6 was introduced in 1997.
Another fate the UR S6 was the appetite from people to cannibalise it for the glorious 5 cylinder Turbo engine, most of which found their way into smaller Audi platforms such as the quattro itself and the B3/ B4 Audi 80 generations. In the relatively short production run, there was never a large amount of them anyway and now this model is very scarce and one with these miles is all but extinct.
Background to the car for sale
Being an Audi enthusiast myself, the car was known to me as it lived in a village close by where I met the owner Jim, himself a massive fan of the S6 obviously. He even let me drive it once. It only had circa 56k on it back in 2014 when I drove it, stunning example! Jim acquired the car on 11th April 2008 with 4 previous owners.
Sadly, after a long battle with Cancer, Jim passed away in 2017. As the car was his pride and joy, the car was stuck into the garage where his wife could still see the car. Up until recently, there was no desire to sell the car but it wasn’t getting used and Jim’s son-in-law, who I’m friends with, managed to persuade Jim’s wife that the car was not benefitting from being tucked away in the garage.
So, given the rarity of this particular car, and to maximise its sale value for Jim’s widow, it was decided to fully recommission the car properly.
Details for this S6
Firstly, the car has all its original documentation. Right down to the Installation Certification for the Pioneer CD Player which still resides in the car together with its original case for storing the facia. Back in 1995, the stereo systems were installed at the dealerships and not at the Factory as some may think.
The Service Book, Owner’s Manual and all other associated documentation are also present in the original Wallet for the car. Most of the previous MoT’s are there together with various Invoices for work carried out during its life prior to now. Do not have the Original Bill of Sale but the second Bill of Sale is there from Scotts of London for £26, 995 with a mileage of only 8, 260 in May 1997.
During the process of recommissioning, the car has had circa £4, 000 spent on it to get it into appropriate condition for one of this mileage and value. All work has the related receipts for the work carried out, which was all at specialists for this type of car and other specialists in their field.

There is a walk round video of both the exterior at the Loch and a walk round video of the interior / door checks available on request.

Having done some research on values, which involved owners and members of model specific Forums, I’ve not really had a wide range of suggested prices, so I’m pitching the car at a price which I believe it is worth, given its rarity and low mileage. Some higher prices have been suggested based on a ‘holding out’ price but I would like to get the car sold for Jim’s widow and to provide some inheritance money for Jim’s 2 daughters.

No silly offers please, there is no desperation here to sell the car.
