Description

This is another collector’s piece and without a doubt the absolute best Morris Minor we have ever owned. PBL 257F was owned for many years by a dedicated member of the MMOC and regular competitor in Concours at the highest level. Having worked at the Morris factory in Cowley for many years, he knew every nut, bolt and rivet on a Morris Minor and having been rebuilt during the 1990’s, his car was judged and became a multiple winner of the coveted ‘Grand Masters’ category, the highest accolade in the MMOC Concours and the most difficult to achieve. PBL 257F also went onto win Autoglym and Andrew Greenwood Events in 2004, without doubt being the very best Saloon in the country.
Our Trafalgar Blue Morris Minor was rebuilt over a four-year period from the ground up. The Morris was a two-owner car prior to this and was taken right back to ensure the highest standard of restoration could be completed. New parts fitted were BMC parts that had been collected over the years and the workmanship during restoration was second to none. After 21 years of showing, displaying and winning prizes, the Morris was sold to a Doctor in 2013 who kept the Morris for two years. It was then sold to a Durham based collector who has cherished the Morris over the last six years.

It really is remarkable to see a Morris Minor 1000 Saloon in this condition, a restoration to these standards today would likely cost in excess of £35, 000. The condition is a true credit to its restorer, you would not believe this car was rebuilt over 20 years ago, its unrepeatable. The Morris has covered less than 1000 miles in the last ten years, and the attention to detail still evident. Whilst so many years on since rebuild this car is still in a condition where it can pick up awards. It is sensational throughout with a stunning, show level underside and engine bay, exceptional bodywork and delightfully aged paintwork, stunning chrome, interior and boot compartment/ spare wheel well. Mechanically still first class as although the Morris has been dry stored as part of a collection, an in-house mechanic has kept the Morris Minor on the button. This is top quality, a true collector's piece and something very special.
