This rather rare Series 2 (not 2a) chassis number the details below was built in September 1958.
It is a 1959 model year 88" RHD Home Market Land Rover.
Registered in Breconshire on 15th October 1958 as GEU 741 which it still wears to this day.
Tax and MOT exempt which will be a bonus when it is back on the road.
Up to date V5 document ready to go in the new owners name.
It started life as a 2. 0 diesel which has been replaced a long time ago with a correct 2. 25 Land Rover petrol engine. This is not a huge surprise as the 2. 0 diesel engine was notoriously fragile and underpowered!
This will make a great restoration project.
The chassis has survived well and will need some welding on the rear as usual but it is certainly saveable.
The bulkhead again is pretty solid.
The engine starts on the button and sounds good.
It has been off the road and was last MOTd in 2011 and unused since so will need a full going over.
It is difficult to find genuine Series 2 projects as they were only made for a few years and are much rarer than 2a's.
It would look great as a full canvas top Land Rover.
