Briefly, the first owner kept her for a mammoth 58 years. There is a notebook, dating back to 1960, detailing everything you could imagine. It is an unbelievable piece of social history. It just about talks its way through ever mile, what that mile cost and everything else. Hand written details down to last penny spent. This book ran from 1960 to 2004 by the time the Morris (with the same fastidious owner) had covered 87, 000 miles. It wanted for nothing and must have been driving like new. So, while he was keeping the chronicle, it covered those miles in 44 years with him. An average of less than 2, 000 miles per year with the original owner. It has been so well kept that it sounds and drives like a 2-year-old Minor. These are chronicled miles. Every drop of petrol, drop of oil, service, engine work recorded. You will never see another detailed hand written piece of motoring history like this. Amazing! Her mileage today is the 36, 158 on the clock which has been recorded since September 1969 when his odometer failed. It stopped working on 51, 224 miles on September 23rd, 1969. That's just one typical note from the original owner's incredibly detailed history!
She is in superb order as you would probably imagine having spent almost 60 years with one fastidious owner! She has what surely must be her original 948cc BMC engine. This is the one most revered by the gurus who prefer it to the later up-rated Minor units.
