This is without doubt the very best Citroen 2CV we’ve had the pleasure of owning. This gleaming, show quality example has covered less than 100 miles since a full nut and bolt restoration with marque experts 2CV City in 2015. E963 LUY was in regular use up to 2014 when it was taken on by the West Yorkshire specialists for a full chassis up rebuild.
First of all the bodyshell was completely stripped down and all rust/ corrosion removed and new panels fitted as required. The body was then seam sealed, etch primed. The doors, bonnet, boot, A panels were prepared, wings replaced and then the bodyshell and loose parts professionally re-painted. The underside was then fully waxoyled ahead of fitting to a brand-new rolling galvanised chassis.
The engine, gearbox, steering, suspension and brakes were stripped, cleaned, checked and overhauled as required before being built back up. The interior was re-trimmed as required, and the seats rebuilt and the car built back up to a show class condition. The level of detailing carried was first class and six years on since completion and less than 100 miles the 2CV is exceptional with a gleaming first class paint finish, beautifully finished interior trim, stunning underside and engine bay.
On the road the 2CV is a delight performing superbly and having had little use over the past couple of years, will be fully serviced and MOT tested for its next owner. The car is a true delight, its exceptional throughout and has been rebuilt to an extremely high standard. The Citroen was rebuilt to a standard as close to new as possible, and several years later is exceptional throughout.
