The Atelier des 1000 is delighted to offer for sale this 1970 Citroën Méhari, presented in its original Kirghiz Orange colour.
Launched in 1968, the Méhari quickly became a symbol of freedom and simplicity. Designed as a lightweight, practical and robust vehicle, it appeals as much for its unique aesthetic as for its utilitarian spirit. Produced until 1987, it has served both private owners and professionals equally well for leisure outings and daily missions.
The example we are offering is a 1970 model, presented in a 4-seater configuration, particularly suited to family or leisure use.
Mechanically, the engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The road behaviour is sound and in keeping with the model's intended use.
The engine has recently undergone a refresh, with a photographic record accompanying the work carried out.
The gearbox selects its ratios correctly. The gear selection is particularly smooth. The clutch operates normally and shows no signs of weakness.
The running gear is in good condition. The braking system is effective.
The bodywork is in excellent condition. The Kirghiz Orange paint offers a very fine lustre.
The interior, in 4-seater configuration, presents well. The seats, dashboard and controls are in good condition and retain all the simplicity characteristic of the Méhari.
The vehicle comes with a set of towelling seat covers, an accessory particularly appreciated for the journey home after a swim.
