Description
This car has been at Leeds College's Auto Engineering department for the last 12 years. They were rebuilding it but have now passed the project back to me. The shell has been stripped to bare metal and repainted. The engine, gearbox and running gear are back in but, as you can see from the pics, there's still a lot of reassembly to complete.
The car has a 20-valve engine fitted with a large custom made alloy Alisport intercooler (it also has an Alisport alloy rad). It was running 0. 8bar of boost and making 280bhp, with scope for a lot more. It has a custom-configured Emerald ECU to control the sequential injection and coil-pack ignition.
I've been through the car and the boxes of bits and as far as I can tell it's all still there apart from the brake calipers (It had Hispec alloy four pots upfront with oversize discs) and the wiper arms/ blades. It needs a new windscreen too. However, I can't guarantee that every nut, bolt, bracket and fitting is present.
I'm in two minds as to what to do with it. It had been at Leeds College a long time and the call to come and get it came out of the blue, so it doesn't really fit in with my current plans. On the other hand, it's a rust-free quattro with fresh paint, and the running gear was all in fine fettle so I could rebuild it and have a great car.
I'll let fate decide. If it sells for what I think is a fair price in the next week or so, so be it. But if it doesn't, it'll be going into my garage and you won't be seeing me for six months or so.
I don't know what the mileage is but the digital dash all worked so I'll find out if I don't sell it. The V5 is present.
