Audis were always known for being reliable and solid, but not necessarily for being exciting. So, when the all-new Quattro was unveiled at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show, it stunned onlookers with its boxy flared arches and technological advances.
Our 1982 10-Valve Quattro is as good as it gets. And we don’t mean that flippantly – this car is truly exceptional.
Having spent a long time in a personal collection, the car was completely restored to exacting specification with no stone unturned aesthetically or mechanically.
Along with a full windows-our respray in its original colour to a very high standard, all suspension arms and bushings were replaced along with the entire braking system and a full retrim in beautiful two-tone alcantara was carried by A&T Autostyle in Kilkenny including headliner and carpets.
The legendary turbocharged 2. 1 10-valve 5-cylinder engine was treated to a full rebuild and is still on running in mileage. Road testers of the time raved about the extraordinary performance and grip and it still impresses today.
With a fully documented 82k miles from new, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire the best of its kind for a price less than it would cost to restore a car to this level.
