Brothers Don and Derek Rickman were successful motocross riders in the 1950s and turned their passion into a business venture with the 1959 introduction of the Metisse Mk1. In the 1970s, the reputation of Metisse was enhanced by notable riders Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins.
This restoration of the Metisse M. R. D. (Model Replica Designs) by Harry Enyart is truly spectacular. He acquired the frame and bodywork in the original crates dating to the late 70s. The 500cc engine comes from a 1960 Matchless. The red-flamed paintwork sparkles like a diamond and serves to highlight Enyart's exceptional restoration skills. The Metisse is extremely rare and truly exciting to see one so beautifully built.
