1956 Matchless G11 Cafe Racer with 1958 G9 engine.
Here is something a bit different. A Cafe Racer style G11 with a Suzuki front end.
MOT and Tax exempt historic vehicle. Registration Doc in my name. Non transferable reg.
I have had it running recently on an aux tank.
Needs some sorting before riding:
Has a gearbox oil leak
The carb float sometimes sticks when tickling
Front brake is spongy
Seat needs securing better.
Rev Counter is just for show and
not connected.
and probably some other small bits and pieces.
Comes with a colour co-ordinated Cockpit fairing and rudimentary fixings.
The oil tank has a manual on / off feed valve and electrical switch connected to the ignition.
Bike has been to IOM some time in the past and has taken part in Straightliners Ramsay Sprint, just for fun. Hence sticker on rear of seat.
Bike was built in approx 2017
As I understand it, at the time, although I have no documentary evidence:
Engine had been refurbished
Gearbox set up with new clutch and primary drive chain
New Amal Carb fitted
Dynamo professionally rebuilt
Magneto professionally rebuilt
All new cables fitted
Nothing has been removed or damaged so it could be returned to standard if required , to get started I include a complete set of forks for refurbishment. Everything you see is included, top and bottom yoke, Headlamp Ears, Wheel Clamps. And there are some new bolts included too.
I also include a tool box / battery tray with a new (albeit an AJS one) never fitted side panel cover.
