Runs, drives and stops
Bought this last year as a non runner for my own collection as I’ve always fancied a 280
But I have since bought a manual estate instead!
I’ve replaced the following-
New fuel pump (genuine part)
New fuel pump relay
New HT LEADS
New spark plugs
New distributor cap
New rotor arm
New fuel filter
New oil filter
New oil
New brake pipe
ETC
The car looks to have had some welding in the past and looks to be done to
good standard (most w123s have had some).
The car polishes up lovely and looks great in the sun, it would benefit from a good machine polish, but the car is solid it does have some rust, mainly around the rear screen and front windscreen where it’s blistered the paint , and a couple of scabs on the front lowers wings! But the rear arches are solid minus one small bit that has been touched up! Overall the car is very solid and looks great!
As I said the car came to me as a non runner, so I replaced all the items I said early, got it running and it sounds lovely, but it is down on power and bogs down under load I think the fuelling needs setting up on the k-jet system!
The interior is good, other than the drivers seat is worn on its base! It comes with 4x electric windows and electric sunroof, arm rest front and rear and rear headrests!
Overall the car is very solid and looks great, I think a good weekends tinkering and it would fly through a mot
And you would have a lovely motor!
I have the v5 in my name and few odd receipts but that’s it!
