If you are looking for a very good example of one of the most sought-after models of MX5 ever made, then you have come to the right place. It took me years to track one of these down, and now I am potentially letting it back out into the wild…
Behold my cherished Satellite Blue R-Ltd, the perfect blend of sport and style – with all the sporty extras provided on the RS-Ltd, but without the weird Carbon Fibre bucket seats. Instead, you get a blood red leather interior, together with classy mahogany Nardi controls (steering wheel, gear knob etc.).
Since I purchased this car in late 2017, I have invested much time and money (over £10, 000!), making this the best version of the best model that I possibly could. The parts that I have purchased are the best possible, and where necessary, fitted by the best in the business.
Why am I selling it? Good question, I intended this to be my ‘coffee jar’ investment, but one baby and a triple lockdown, and I’m thinking that maybe it would be more practical if my Mazda and I went separate ways…
I am not looking to sell this on the cheap; if need be, I will keep hold of what will very likely be a lucrative appreciating asset. If you see this ad and intend to try and knock large amounts off of the asking price, please just save yourself the time and effort, and just buy a cheaper one listed for sale elsewhere.
However, if you are interested in spending a little more on a very good example of a cult classic car, this just might be the one for you.
Since I have owned the car, it has been stored out of the rain, and had minimal use in the wet. It is also a little like “Trigger’s Broom” in that I have replaced many items, but always tried to keep it as close to the original spec as possible.
Some of the items that I have invested in:
• Full professional restoration completely rust free (see pictures of underside), together with full Shutz under-seal.
• Both seats fully refurbished including brand-new leather skins.
• new professionally installed mohair roof with glass rear window.
• Fully adjustable Meister R suspension kit (The best money can buy for the MX5-NA), together with a professional install, alignment and set up. This really does handle better than any other car I have ever driven, including Porsches and Ferraris.
• Audiophile grade sound-system, together with an Apple Play head unit. This is all installed in such a way that to the naked eye the car looks to have a standard set up. For full details of this project, see my blog write up:

• Full stainless-steel exhaust system, including manifold and stainless cat.
• Brand new cooling-system; hoses, radiator, water pump and thermostat all replaced.
• Full set of brand-new Continental ECO 6 tyres barely scrubbed in.
