Description
We are pleased to offer this rather striking Triumph TR20 Roadster.
The addition of spats covering the rear wheels really smooths out the lines of the car, in our view, making it very elegant and reminiscent of streamlined contemporaries such as the Lea Francis 14 Sports and the Jaguar XK120.
Attractively finished in silver with a red interior the Roadster boasts a dark red mohair hood and hood bag.
This is the later version of the Roadster with 2 litre Standard Vanguard engine and three speed column change gearbox.
The engine was fully rebuilt in 2013 by Carlow Engineering with all components balanced. TR4 pistons were fitted taking the capacity to 2, 162cc and a TR4A clutch fitted. Other upgrades include a spin off oil filter, electric fan, auxiliary electric fuel pump and a Weber carburetter. These modifications improve the performance and useablilty and the Triumph is very enjoyable to drive. It is important to note that all the changes to the car are reversible.
The paintwork is in generally excellent condition with just the odd age related mark. The interior is similarly in very good order and the dashboard has been re-veneered.
The instruments all work correctly with the exception of the temperature gauge and a discreet digital thermometer has been fitted. The semaphore trafficators work properly and flasher units have been installed to make them much more noticeable.
There is quite a lot of history with the car including rebuild photographs, old invoices, MoTs etc. There is also an original Owners Handbook, a Triumph Roadster Club Drivers’ Instruction Book and a spare set of keys. A small quantity of spares also come with the Triumph including the original headlights and carburetter.
The Roadster enjoys excellent support from The Triumph Roadster Club.
This Roadster has quite a presence and will attract admiration wherever it goes.
