This limited edition (number 0179) ‘40 Jahre 911’ is far more than just a special badge on the dash.
There are very few in existence (1, 963 examples worldwide with approx 125 of those as UK delivered RHD), and they are a 996 very much worth seeking out.
Benefiting from the X51 Powerkit (345 bhp from the 3. 6, an upgrade of 25 bhp over the standard Carrera) plus M030 Sports suspension (UK version only), 10 mm lower than standard and a limited slip diff.
The aesthetics are good too; GT silver metallic bodywork with Turbo style front air intakes and GT3 side skirts, ‘911 40 Jahre’ rear emblem and sunroof.
The 18” Carrera alloys have been painted silver, a sensible change from the fragile polished chrome finished versions which left the factory.
A dark grey natural leather interior with a special perforated finish for the seat centres, gear and handbrake lever gaiters and steering wheel.
Heated Sports seats, the hardbacks are finished in GT silver as is the rear section of the centre console.
Further standard equipment includes an Alcantara roof lining, Bi Xenon headlights and Porsche Sound Package.
This particular example has the additional options of PCM with navigation and a 6 disc CD auto changer.
Supplied by OPC Sutton Coldfield in March 2004, and stayed with its first owner until 2020 when it was sold at approximately 55, 000 miles.
Now at 56, 243 miles, it has seen some major investment in the last couple of years including new radiators, new AC condenser, exhaust rear silencers, new rear brake pipes, new clutch, new rear main oil seal and most significantly, an IMS upgrade.
We will carry out a major service with new spark plugs and brake fluid here in the Williams Crawford workshop.
