Thank you for looking at my Corrado VR6 Storm.
MOT expires on 6th May, 2022 (it comes with no advisories). I have driven just under 1000 miles since it was MOT'd.
Having owned a Corrado 16V since 2011, I always wanted to experience a VR6. I was fortunate to purchase my Storm locally, from the second owner, in April 2021. My intention was to keep both. However, having recently bought a Polo for my son to learn to drive in I cannot justify having 5 cars.
I am the third owner. The second, mature female owner, purchased the Storm when it was 3 years old and kept it for 22 years.
My Storm is completely original. Everything is present and correct. It comes with the original Sony tape/ CD multi-changer. The sunroof tilts and slides (albeit reluctantly, so I don't open it) and the automatic spoiler rises at 60 mph.
It has a full service history (Volkswagen up to 2008). From 2008 to 2019, it was serviced by the same garage in Bedfordshire.
The Storm came with a coolant leak and despite having 2 months left of its MOT, I chose to give the car a thorough professional mechanical assessment. The Storm came back to me with a full MOT and no advisories. Work undertaken included:
. Full service (plugs, all filters, oil, coolant, brake fluid)
. 4 new Toyo Proxes tyres
. 4 pads and discs
. Rear brake hoses
. NSF/ OSF front wishbones
. 2 rear brake calipers
. Temperature sensor
. Thermostat
. Heater matrix
. Expansion tank
Whilst the car was in the garage, I also had the dashboard removed and a new original VW heater control system was fitted.
If I were to keep the Storm I would give it a light, rolling restoration, which is what I did on my 16V.
The Storm looks amazing. However, if you are fastidious like me, the following could be done:
. Treat and redye the leather
. The underside is solid, however I would remove any surface rust and apply waxoyl
. The four arches are solid, however there is some bubbling on them
. Treat the front/ rear screens as there is some bubbling
. Refurbish the alloys
With the exception of the screens, which would be best removed professionally, the bodywork and underside could be done at home.
