This top class Porsche 911E was built on the 1st December 1972, delivered new in RHD format by Melbourne Hamiltons in Australia, finished in Viper Green with five speed gearbox, comfort pack, S instruments and leather steering wheel. This gorgeous example spent its life in Australia before coming into the UK in 2015 having been sold by a Company in North Sydney to one of our regular customers in Lancashire.
The Porsche comes with a comprehensive history detailing a program of major work in the late 1990's and early 2000's and invoices from its time in Australia total over $65, 000. The 911 was a classic daily driver in the 2000's and maintained by Autohaus Hamilton (mechanical) in New South Wales and O&S Sports Car Restoration Ltd (bodywork) in Cromer, NSW. During the early 2000's the car was subject of a replacement flywheel, clutch kit, wheel bearings, front and rear shock absorbers, sway bar drop links, rebuilt alternator, new transmission mounts, ball joints, new brake discs and pads, rebuilt calipers and new timing chain tensioners, chain housing gasket and top cam cover gaskets. Also, during the early 2000's $10000 AUS Dollars of work to the bodywork with rust cut out and replaced with new metal/ new panels and in 2007 over $1890 spent on anodising and re-furbishing the alloy wheels.
In 2011 the 911 had over $3000 spent on brake hoses, new air-conditioning belt and re-gas, new seat belt pillars and two new tie rod assemblies and was freshly serviced and prepared before coming to the UK in 2015. In 2019 the Porsche was treated to £2500 of work that included a full service, fitting new cam covers, re-assembling and refurbishing the heater blow box and replacing the front suspension levers. Initially on arrival in the UK, the Porsche was also stripped down and fully re-painted, and not taken to bare metal as there were no corrosion issues or major blemishes present. The paintwork was only to achieve a top class finish almost 15 years on since its work in Australia. Since coming to the UK the 911 has covered around 2000 faultless miles and its most notable trip was from North Yorkshire to the Scottish Highlands, touring through Loch Lomond, Glencoe and the Isle of Skye before an endurance test across the mountain pass over to Applecross on the North West Scottish peninsula over three days.
