1971 MGB GT Teal Blue Autumn Leaf Interior 3 Owners from new. Fantastic Car.
Offered for sale is this 1971 MGB GT. Known by me for the last 11 years i was delighted to acquire this vehicle recently from the third owner of the last eleven years.
During this ownership i have maintained the car both mechanically and more importantly big structural work to the body. The car was re-silled to both sides by myself in 2012 for the O/ S and the N/ S in 2015.
Full sill replacement comprising front wing removal with new castle rail , centre liner and outer sill with quarter wing repair for the lower rear wing to allow sill access was completed with full internal paint and rust protection. The rear tailgate and front valence was replaced around the same time.
The lower half rear wings and N/ S door had both been replaced under the second owners custody along with both front wings in 1999. All recorded in a intensive history file.
In the history file the engine was overhauled in 1994 with new rings bearings pushrods and followers. In 2007 the car received a unleaded cylinder head
Upon my ownership in November i off course got carried away to present the car you see here. Due to the three enthusiastic previous owners the car is in excellent condition throughout anyway shown by its original interior carpets and rubber floor matts in Autumn Leaf.
The dash was changed for a re-crackled same replacement. The front Autumn Leaf vinyl/ velour seats were retrimmed by me with new foams etc. Finally the liner panels to front/ rear footwells and door panels were replaced to compliment a fantastic interior.
Mechanically the car is in fine fettle anyway with electronic ignition new servo brakes and the all ready mentioned overhauled engine.
To compliment the rest of the car some fettling to the bodywork for improved fitment was carried out along with a full repaint to the already heavily rebuilt body. The bonnet roof and offside door were original factory paint.
All brightwork and finishers were in excellent condition further complimenting the condition of the car.
A superb example to all areas that drives as good as it looks. Ten more the same please !
