Here at Old Colonel Cars we are delighted to have what must be one of the most original and rust free examples of the Mercedes 190E 2. 5 16v Cosworth. Having covered only 84, 000 miles, this 2 owner car has been owned and cherished by the current family for 27 years. Always garaged, its owned by a very knowledgeable family, who have cared for this car perfectly. For the last few years, Croydon Mercedes Benz, their local main dealer , has picked this car up from owner’s house for service / MOT, then dropped back to them.
This September 1989 car is a rare UK, RHD drive car, featuring the later 2. 5 16v engine and the 5 speed, 'dogleg' manual gearbox. This example is ready to show and would grace any collection.

Bodywork / Interior / Wheels etc
Finished in the classic Blue-Black paintwork. The bodywork and paintwork are in excellent condition. This is not a restored car, it very much an original example, so much rarer to find now. The paintwork looks excellent, only the odd minor stone chip, it really is a testament to how well this car has been cared for, always cleaned and stored away correctly when not in use. Look down the sides, across all panels, this car is superb. Look closer, all wheel arches, all jacking points, all sills etc, no rust and all looks to be original metal work. This really example is a must for anyone looking for an original car for their collection.
The interior is finished in Black leather. Again its all in excellent original condition. The carpets are protected by equally nice, original overmats. No cracks in the dash, everything workings as it should. Headlining is excellent, as are the door cards. We have the original dealer blanking plate for the stereo along with the dealer fitted pioneer stereo, complete with original box etc.
Engine / Gearbox
The 2. 5 16v engine is a delight. With excellent service history, mostly main dealer, this engine has been cared for correctly. The 5 speed 'dogleg' gearbox is lovely to use, the clutch nice and light, with the biting point just right.

Summary
This really is one of those rare finds, so if you are looking for one, don't miss this example. Its a car that's been garaged all of its life and looked after correctly, by only 2 owners. Not restored, just an amazing example. Everything on this car appears original, really poke around, take the jacking point covers off (see pics), all original with factory protection still visible. The only thing that has been changed from standard, is the owner replaced the middle to rear exhaust with a stainless steel item. It still sounds stock and an original can be sourced if required.
