here we have a fine example off a iconic car thats getting hard to find, how many were ran into the ground or scrapped and bangered, this example is rock solid and only been wileded on the ends off the sills with proper sill for the right shape and spliced in, done to very good standard cut out weleded proper you cant tell and a very small piece in the innerwing, boot and the floor and innerwing scuttle panel as ford made them, interior is very nice seats have no tears and still firm not saggy and carpets are very nice original think there called york interior even parcel self not had speakers fitted and backs up the mileage. has got very nice upgrades on the matching numbers original engine which are a twin choke webber with a kn filter a ss 4 branch and ss bigbore exshaust and a type9 5 speedbox and a leccy ign, its a turnkey classic mordern day classic, its a rare 1600L, and i think thats what saved it, no leaky sunroof or vinyl roof. I have looked after it and garage it, I done lot off work on it, still got its original dealer plate on back, car came from sw london peacocks off balham london dealership, its the dealership thats in the iconic film carry on cabby were hattie jakes buys all her mk1 cortinas its not there now it was a artdeco building. got a stack off paperwork that backs up milage work thats been done, when i got it it had wrong wheels on it and small steering wheel mk4 grill wrong indercaters so i put it back to original spec which were rostyle sport wheels and original 4 spoke steering wheel and mk5 grill and correct orange indercaters. i think its bit off a gem and one off last off the line, i spent a lot off money and time on it, new dizzycap rota arm coil leads plugs new raditor and hoses antifreez alternater fanbelt oil and kn oil filter new front brakes. back springs and shockers got to fit, got new timeing belt and teinsor and waterpump but they need to be fitted. had to go to southport pick up the wheels, got a rotfree boot but needs spraying match the car if you want to get rid off the boot spoiler, spoiler which is worth a few queenbacks on its own, to some it up its a nice honest car that i dont use and never get the time as i got a elderly mother to look after and i visit in norwitch once a month and i work 6 to 7 days a week some weeks seems a shame to sit there the v5 in my name and its a proper uk car and got a proper mot, i wont be upset if it doesent sell, sensible questions no px or timewasters or car flippers i want what its worth or it just stays in my lock up rember the car is 40 year old soon to be tax and mot exempt took some pics today gave it good wash wings have been replaced ds need fitting little bit better will get to it, got trims that go on the wings got few minor dents here and there, little bleb by windscreen very minor, was resprayed about 5 years ago, before i had it not orignal colour but near enough metlic grey and pops in the sunlight looks the dogs, just bought a new exide battery £78 3 years guarantee and brand new webber 32/ 36 dgv carb £250 a manual choke one like i say not bothered if it doesent sell, might px small classic van cash either way, put the new carb on what a difference runs like a champ and ticks over like a swiss clock very nice cortina for not mad money am going to wapsate car today be later i had few sherbets yesterday lol, put pics off the floor showing how solid it is, mot put lot off buyers off saying lot off corroson on mot over zealous mot man lol but if its only end off one sill and minor bit on innerwing if thats it i will have that all day, for 40 year old car its unreal and you can see the floor not been touched
