1933 Riley Nine Lincock - very rare
A stylish coupe, the Lincock made its debut in October 1932 and was described in the Riley brochure as ‘An intimate car for two; speedy, luxuriously equipped and roomy, it is light to handle and its exceptionally low build ensures safety in all conditions”
Priced at £315 when fitted with the ‘Special Series’ 9hp engine, the Lincock was available until mid - 1934 with approximately 400 built. It was also available with the six-cylinder 12hp engine, although it is believed only a very small number were so equipped.
Today, less than 10 examples of the Lincock are known to have survived, making this one of the rarest of Rileys.
Of delightful appearance in maroon and black, this example is of 1933 manufacture and was first registered in Surrey. It was restored extensively including a total replacement of the body frame, with the work being completed during 2008/ 9 and enormous sums have been spent to ensure the future of this charming motor car, with is without doubt one of the very best survivors of this model. Additional work during the past ten years totals over £55, 000 expenditure.
The car has formed part of a local collection, which is now being reduced.
The original registration number remains and there are photos supplied of the rebuild in progress.
