First registered on 8 July 1953, this is a genuine right-hand drive MG TD in good order, offering excellent value for money. The car has had only three former keepers, the first from 1953 to 2001, and the second from 2001 to 2020. It was restored a number of years ago and we have a photo album showing some of the work carried out. Since its restoration, it has been well maintained and was refreshed a few years ago with a good quality repaint - the paintwork remains very good. The structure of the car is good and the doors are a good fit. Mechanically, the car has been well looked after and it starts and runs as it should, with good oil pressure and no overheating. The transmission is good and quiet and the brakes work well, including the fly-off handbrake. It is nice to see the original steering wheel in place, together with all the original dials. The interior is good - the door cards having been replaced in recent times, and the patinated leather seats are good. The Other Half will be pleased to know that the car has a proper 'plumbed-in' heater. The hood and side screens are excellent, no tears, rips or misting, the chromework is satisfactory. The two spotlights at the front of the car work, which is unusual, and there are flashing indicators fitted. The car stands on its original disc wheels and all hub caps with badges are present. The underside of the car is good and sound (but wouldn't win a concours) and the engine bay could be improved. This is a nice, ready to use every day car. Comes with V5C, good history file, workshop manual handbook, starting handle ... and even a spare key!!
