Here is an opportunity to put a bit of work in and create the 911 you want.
We have seen better, but many much worse. This one has a fresh MOT and lots going for it, but some of the typical 964 issues, which are often overlooked, will need rectification.
It’s a 1990 model year 964 Carrera 4 with a decent appearance; classic silver metallic with a black interior, great stance and superb soundtrack.
First the good; accompanied by a large maintenance history file with evidence 30 services and the benefit of a motor build (approx 60, 000 miles ago). More recently, suspension upgrades with Koni dampers and Eibach springs courtesy of Center Gravity. Lots more has been done. The body appears straight and it’s HPI clear. Nice wheels plus the black leather is good, as is the dash. It's not been cut about or ruined.
The not so good…..(any independent inspection is welcome), but our view is that there are some significant repairs that we would recommend dealing with, and a list of more minor faults. Common to many 964 it has un-repaired corrosion in the rear chassis legs around the bumper supports, a few other bits of corrosion around the tail and some small bubbling, mostly around the front and rear screens (so commonly seen in 964).
Also typical for a 964 are some oil leaks, (not specifically identified) plus various electrical function glitches (seats, mirrors etc) that might be easy fixes for a handy Porsche enthusiast.
To be clear, it does have faults and it will require some work. But it does have potential and would make a great basis for a faithful restoration or indeed, a custom hot rod, backdate or lightweight (which we could do for you) ....... or with a few basics done, just drive and repair as you go along.
