'Collection by Vermant’ is delighted to be able to offer you this unique Volvo P1800 ES from 1973. This example is fitted with a B20E engine. This 2L injection engine delivers 120 hp and delivers this power through a 4 speed (plus overdrive) manual transmission to the rear wheels.
This European delivered ‘ES’ is finished in ‘Light Blue Metallic’ Colour code 111. This is a very vibrant blue colour, which accentuates the beautiful lines of the P1800 very well. When looking at the interior, we can also find a light blue interior with darb blue carpets. The colour of the seats and doorpanels is very similar to the light blue exterior colour. When comparing the interior colours to the identifiaction plate, we can conlude that the car is still in its original shade of light metallic blue over a light blue interior and dark blue carpets.
This ES remained in France till 1988 and was then exported to Belgium in the subsequent year. Official Volvo dealer Wenger (Antwerp) import the car into Belgium and applied for a COC document with Volvo Cars Belgium. After a few years, the car was sold again tot the last owner in 1995. He kept the car and recently sold it to us.
Under our care, the car has been partially restored to bring it back to its former glory. Rusted panels were replaced and the exterior of the car was repainted in its original light blue metallic. To complement the new paint, all the chrome fittings and bumpers were replaced. The interior was still in excellent shape but unfortunately the driver side seat was ripped due to numerous years of use. We decided to replace both front seats to prevent any colour differences and give the car a complete rejuvenation. With the front seats replaced, the car is back in excellent condition and ready to be driven again by a new owner.
