When the Ford Mustang was launched in 1964 it offered buyers the option to personalise their cars to a level never seen before. Each customer could choose comfort or performance options to tailor their new car exactly to their needs. Over the next 8 years the Mustang would offer many performance packages and by the early 70's the 'Mach 1' and 'Boss' models gave stripes, spoilers and chrome wheels exploiting the cars sporty nature. Ford was also aware of a niche for 'Personal Luxury' vehicles and so in 1969 the Mustang Grande was launched. Focusing on comfort focused options the Grande had 55 pounds of extra sound deadening, comfort suspension and 45 other options including wood dash trim and extra thick carpeting.
This amazingly original 1972 example was purchased new by the daughter of a Ford dealership. She specified the car with Medium green metallic paint, 351 CID 2V V8 engine, Green vinyl roof, cruise-o-matic transmission, 14" belted tyres, power steering, AM radio, protection package, colour keyed racing mirrors, trim ring hubcaps. Bringing the total price over $1, 000 above base price to $3, 826. 92. Miss Cline kept ownership of the car until 2006, a testament to how much she loved the car. It has since had two further keepers and if you take the time to look though the photos you will see how incredibly well preserved this car is. With the 351 V8 this car really shifts and has all the muscle you could need but with some luxury refinements to make long journeys a pleasure.
Open to any inspection, this car, although exempt, will come with a new MOT test.
