Here is an exciting opportunity to own an unusual classic 911.
Only a suggested 1, 064 RHD Carrera 3. 0 coupes were ever produced making it a very desirable model.
Available for just a 2 year window, the 3. 0 litre was highly revered for its exceptionally torquey motor offering great drivability and a particularly good soundtrack.
Much technology was carried over from both the 930 Turbo and the 2. 7 RS, including and aluminium crankcase, Nikasil cylinder liners, lighter flywheel and crankshaft and Bosch K-Jetronic.
This June '77 example was delivered by Lancaster Garages, OPC for Colchester, and unusually for the UK, is a non-spoiler, non-'Sport' specification.
Supplied in Grand Prix white with ultra-cool velour pinstripe seat inserts plus sunroof and (currently non-functioning) air conditioning (although a simple recommission). The original 'Cookie Cutter' wheels have been replaced with a set of smart, 15 inch Fuchs alloys.
Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, a large folder of invoices and receipts, many MOT certificates and the original service book/ driver's manual, showing ongoing maintenance throughout the lifetime of the car.
The most recent keeper invested in a light restoration carried out by marque specialists Norfolk Premier Coachworks. This included new front wings and kidney bowls followed by a back-to-bare-metal repaint in the original colour. The seats have been refurbished by Classic FX Porsche trimmers.
The 915 5-speed 'box is particularly good following a major rebuild by Mike Bainbridge approximately 2, 500 miles ago, paired with a Steve Holgate rebuilt engine (some 35, 000 miles ago).
We will carry out a full service here in the Williams Crawford workshop before this classic goes to a new home.
We see very few Carrera 3. 0 litre Porsche, and fewer still which present and drive as nicely as this one does. We would consider this a Condition Grade 4 (out of 5); ready to enjoy immediately and, with continued care, to be enjoyed well into the future.
