A really excellent example of a left hand drive MG TD, which would be ideal for European touring, or indeed as a regular use car in the UK (left or right hand drive doesn’t really make much difference in driving one of these, as the visibility is so good). This particular car was exported to New Hampshire USA, in 1951, and we understand that it was probably in the same family for many years. Whilst in the USA, the car was rebuilt to a very good standard and it was reimported back to this country in 2018. At this stage, the restoration was refreshed and improved upon by a London restoration company for the new owners, the producers of the TV show ‘Salvage Hunters’, who we think intended to use it for their opening credits. We first became involved with the car in 2020, when we purchased it from the film company and sold it to the current owner, who has further improved the vehicle. Unfortunately, the current owner now has to sell the car due to a change in personal circumstances. So, what we now have is a very well restored car, which is mechanically, bodily and cosmetically extremely good. The body structure, paintwork, upholstery, underside, engine bay, chrome work – you name it, is good. The interior of the car has been further improved with a new dashboard. The high quality canvas hood was new in 2019, as was the Bluemels steering wheel, four matching tyres, nickel silver radiator surround and radiator grille. Recently, the car has had new brakes, solid state fuel pump, better cooling fan, refurbished tacho, electronic ignition, spin-on oil filter and flashing indicators. The car is now negative earth. All this makes for a great driving car, and one which is ready to enjoy immediately. Performance is good – strong engine, good oil pressure, no overheating, quite gearbox and back axle. Comes with V5C, current schedule of maintenance and MOT to November 2022. Great price – what are you waiting for?
