MODEL HISTORY & PRODUCTION
In 2008 Aston Martin unveiled the coupe version of their N400 V8 Vantage, built to commemorate the company’s efforts in the Nurburgring 24 Hr race in long distance production-based racing with the Vantage N24 race cars in the SP8 class for the previous two years. This road legal “N24” was followed by the Roadster version. Both in limited numbers with a planned production of 240 of each model.
Both the Coupe and Roadster were a sell out at launch. An extra 20 bhp thanks to some ECU trickery took the car to a nice round 400 bhp at 7, 300 rpm, along with 309 Ib ft of torque producing a 0-60 mph time of 4. 9 seconds, a top speed of 177 mph and returning 18. 7 mpg. The N400 features a ‘Sports Pack’ with revised dampers, springs, lightweight forged wheels and on the coupe, a new rear anti-roll bar. Colours were limited to Karussell Orange, Lightening Silver and Bergwerk Black with revised rear lights and new design sills.
On the inside there’s a unique brushed alloy facia, contrasting stitching, numbered sill plates, premium sound system and satellite navigation options, plus a lovely stitched outline of the Nuburgring to the arm rest, reminding you of the N24 heritage.
