Porsche 924 2. 0l na 1981
for sale we have my bone stock porsche 924.
i bought this car a year ago and have since done a basic restoration. By this i mean bits were removed from the vehicle, inspected, tested, repaired and replaced as necessary, and refit to the vehicle to a factory standard. I have folders of photos documenting the rebuild.
since ownership it has had the following done to it.
- braking system overhaul
- fuelling system overhaul
- coolant system overhaul
- head skimmed
- old insulation removed and replaced with modern insulation
- wiring harness and electrical system overhaul
- jbl music system installed with sony player module
- all interior trim cleaned and refit
- blower motor and system clean
everything on the vehicle works as it should except for:
- driver side electric mirror intermittent operation
- horn can trigger randomly (believe this is due to a faulty relay)
- odometer counter not working (common problem with the 924, requires a tiny plastic gear to repair).
aesthetically the vehicle is a bit rough, with dents and scratches, however nothing too gaudy, and i think the colour and two tone finish does make it quite an attractive car.
all in all the car has a lot more life in it, and would make for the perfect first porsche for someone willing to put in a bit of thought and elbow grease into getting it back to a mechanical standard.
being 1981, it is classed as historic, so is now tax, mot and ulez exempt!
