We are pleased to offer this incredibly rare Standard Vanguard Vignale onto the market. We first saw this stunning 60’s saloon in the car park at Goodwood Revival, it had been driven faultlessly to and from the event by its Bristol based owner of almost nine years. Supplied new with the Triumph 2 litre straight six engine, manual gearbox with overdrive and brake servo, these Vanguards were an incredibly smooth, usable classic saloon capable of long distance touring.
Receipts are on file for maintenance with its last owner and it appears this has never been a car left to majorly deteriorate. The Vanguard has been maintained and repaired on a rolling basis rather than left to a point where restoration was required. Records on file confirm all brake cylinders have been replaced, various brake pipes replaced, all new wheel bearings fitted, new front brake shoes have been replaced and a new clutch slave cylinder fitted. The Standard has also been regularly MOT tested, most recently in 2021 and previous MOT tests confirm the Standard has covered 5000 miles over the last sixteen years.
645 MUO presents very well and whilst not a concours show vehicle, it is lovely, very smart and has a genuine patina commensurate with that of an honest, original car. The paintwork is generally very nice, as is the chrome work and the Standard is structurally in very strong condition. On close inspection minor blemishes are evident but the car is perfectly usable as it is, or we can discuss minor remedial paintwork if required. The interior is very original, can be improved but has an authentic honest look. This is an incredibly rare car, they do not come up very often and this one is lovely on the road, in strong mechanical condition and is ideal for regular use.
